1. What is CARM?

CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) is a system implemented by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to manage duties and taxes for imports into Canada. Businesses importing goods must have a registered CARM account.

2. Why do I need a CARM account for my Stallion Express returns?

We require customers to have a registered and connected CARM account to process returns from the U.S. to Canada. Without a CARM account, we are unable to complete the customs clearance process.

3. How do I register for a CARM account?

Follow these steps to set up your CARM account:

  1. Register on the CARM PortalClick here to begin the registration process.

  2. Access Your Statement of Account (SOA) – If you need assistance accessing your SOA, contact our helpline for support.

  3. Confirm Your CARM Sign-Up – Once you’ve signed up, email our support line to confirm. An agent will inform our Customs Broker. The Customs Broker will send an invitation to your CARM account.

  4. Connect with Stallion Express – Accept the invitation from WILLIAM L. RUTHERFORD LIMITED by logging into your CARM portal and selecting "Manage Pending Third Party Requests."

  5. Processing Begins – Once connected, our customs broker will be notified, and your returns will be processed.

4. What happens if I don’t register my CARM account?

If your CARM account is not set up, Stallion Express cannot process your returns. Returns that remain unprocessed for more than 30 days may be subject to disposal.

5. How do I check if my CARM account is set up correctly?

Log into your CARM portal and verify that:

  • Your importer number is active.

  • You have an SOA (Statement of Account) linked.

  • You have accepted the invitation from WILLIAM L. RUTHERFORD LIMITED.
